It turns out the Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer will block the pop-up windows generated by searches in the UNH Library Toolbar. Heather G. found this can be resolved by holding down Ctrl while clicking. So in case others with similar problems are following this thread, that should work.

That is why these comments are so helpful and why I asked folks to address functionality. I, too, found access from home to be uneven, at best.

One of my students used the British women's letters for a research paper on the Irish famine. Even though I am a Russian historian, I often teach a colloquium on Disasters in Modern History. Such letters are an invaluable primary source for future students.

The student and I both had persistent problems getting past the user i.d. page.

It doesn't give me an information bar. Just a real quick notification with a little yellow star looking thing that notifies me a pop up was blocked. But down at the bottom of my browser window, next to the IE icon, it says to press CTRL while clicking Search to allow pop ups. THEN the search goes through...

Let's try this: In Internet Explorer, underneath the Address Bar, click the Information Bar when it notifies you that a pop-up window has been blocked. Click Show Blocked Pop-up. Does this work?

Nope! My pop-up blocker filter was already set to Medium and it's still not allowing me to click through on a search....
